Major Qualifying Project, Non-Alcoholic Beer Production, WPI, August 2014 – May 2015
• Developed a process to produce Non-Alcoholic Beer through independent and group research, design, and testing.
o Experimented with various zeolites as a method to remove ethanol from beer.
o Designed and experimented with a vessel to use various gasses to strip ethanol from beer.
• Operated Gas Chromatograph to test results of experiments.
• Wrote and presented a report regarding results.
Chemical Engineering Plant Design, WPI, October 2014 – December 2014
• Group Capstone project where a full chemical plant was designed based on preliminary specifications and available utilities. The design included: a Process Flow Diagram, a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, a layout, a cost summary, vessel designs, and heat exchanger designs and was summarized in final report.
Unit Operations in Chemical Engineering, WPI, August 2014 – December 2014
• Hands on experience in a unit operations lab with the completion of six labs and associated reports, both written and oral. Equipment such as Packed Bed Reactors, Fluidized Bed Reactors, and Heat Exchangers were operated.
